POLICE are searching for a modern-day George Formby, after recovering a ukulele during a raid on a house.
The mother-of pearl instrument was found in a property in Middlesbrough, along with a violin and thousands of pounds worth of gold jewellery.
Police do not know who the items belong to, but among the haul was a man's silver wrist watch engraved on the back with the words: "Industrial Chemical Industries, W Peacock, 20 years' service 1959."
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said a man was being questioned about the stolen items.
Anyone who thinks the items might belong to them is asked to contact police, on (01642) 303126.
