A BUSINESSMAN was beaten over the head with a baseball bat and robbed of his laptop computer and money at the weekend.
A police spokesman said the victim, who has not been named, arrived at his home in Tweed Lane, South Stanley, at 7.30pm on Saturday, when he was attacked.
The man was hit over the head with what he believed to be an 18in bat as he got out of his car.
The blow caused him to fall to the ground and there was a struggle.
A second man took property from the car, while the first man demanded money.
Both then ran to a silver Vauxhall Cavalier car and were driven off by a third man.
The victim was treated in hospital for minor injuries and discharged.
The men were described as 5ft to 5ft 9in. They wore black jackets, black trousers and black balaclava masks. One was of medium to stocky build, while the other was slim.
The man driving the car wore a red top.
