PLANS to extend a cemetery and create a woodland burial site on Teesside look likely to be approved.
Councillors on Stockton Borough Council's planning committee meet on Friday to discuss the plans for Thornaby Cemetery. It is proposed to extend the existing area for graves and create two memorial areas in the new woodland.
A report says: "The development will add to local amenities by providing new and substantial tree planting. It will provide an important extension to existing burials services and a facility for woodland burial, which is becoming increasingly popular."
