POLICE investigating the rape of a 19-year-old woman are stepping up the hunt for a group of people who may hold vital information.
The woman was attacked in a public garden near the seafront in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, early on Friday morning.
Detective Inspector Barry Honeysett said officers wanted to speak a tall man, who they believed was called Wood, who hired a taxi at 2.40am on Friday, from Pavilion Square to Park Road. He said the man was not a suspect, but may hold important information.
A group of people heading towards Valley Bridge may have shouted at the woman, who was attacked in the grounds of Yorkshire Coast College's annexe, and may also be able to provide details
