ORGANISERS of a popular folk festival have launched a hunt for fresh talent.
Last year, the Spring Thing's first event for young performers saw almost 50 take the stage in the garden bar at the Arts Centre, in Vane Terrace, Darlington, where the festival is based.
Its success ensured a repeat this year and on Wednesday, March 13 from 7.30pm to 10.30pm, the opportunity to perform on stage is again on offer. Rock, blues and pop are as welcome as folk, but the style is acoustic.
Admission is 50p, but performers get their money back. To book a ticket, telephone (01325) 486555. To book a place as a performer, ring Tom Hughes of Darlington Folk Club on (01325) 261179, or Lynda Winstanley, programme officer, at the Arts Centre, on (01325) 483271 or e-mail lynda.winstanley
