FORGET aerobics, jogging and spinning - the best way to stay fit and build up stamina is by learning the art of table dancing.
With the launch of the North-East's first pole and table dancing school, the opportunity is open to women across the region.
For Your Eyes Only, at Carliol Square, Newcastle, is opening the school next month, building on the success of a similar venture at its Mayfair club in London.
The club hopes to attract would-be dancers but the sessions are also open to anyone who wants to get in shape by doing something a little different.
Dancer "UJ", who founded the London school, said: "We have had all kinds of women come along, from teachers to lawyers.
"It's great for stamina building and as an aid to weight loss, and is a lot of fun."
A "teaser" day, which will show what the course involves, is being held at the club on Saturday, with the school opening on March 16.
The day will involve information about the course and a demonstration.
"There is no age limit, no size limit and you don't have to be particularly fit. The teaser day will just give people a chance to find out what it's all about," said UJ.
The club, which attracted controversy when it opened last year, is also launching a series of ladies' nights, where women can go along and watch men dance.
Places on the teaser day can be booked by calling 0191-221 2123.
