MORE than 600 jobs will be on offer next week when a work fair is staged in east Durham.
The full and part-time call centre posts will be up for grabs at a jobs fair on Thursday, February 28, at Peterlee's East Durham and Houghall Community College.
The free event has been organised by the Employment Service in partnership with employers in Peterlee and will provide support, advice and assistance to people looking for work and training. There will also be the prospect of hundreds of new jobs.
Anne Smith, recruitment consultant at Peterlee JobCentre said: "With so many jobs available, this is a great opportunity for anybody who is interested in working in the ever-expanding call centre sector.
"People can also get advice and information on benefits to show how much better off they could be by working.
Employment Service staff from Peterlee JobCentre, Easington Action Team for Jobs and the Disability Service will all be on hand alongside specialist Lone Parent Advisors, to offer individual advice and support to those looking for work.
The fair will include a free draw with prizes including a signed Sunderland Football Club shirt. It will be held between 10am and 3pm. A bus service will run from Seaham and Wingate to the Jobs fair. Timetable details are available from local JobCentres.
