TWO rare football programmes are to be sold.
The collectables, relating to Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, will go under the hammer at the UK's leading sports auctioneer, Mullock Madeley.
Produced for a South African tour in 1952, the Magpies memorabilia was bought for a shilling by the vendor, a British man who was serving with the Navy in South Africa at the time.
It is estimated that the programme, ticket and supporter's badge is likely to fetch a four-figure sum.
Mr Mullock said: "These are rare and fascinating artefacts relating to the heydays of the two clubs. Many people do not realise what they have stashed away in the top drawer."
The auction is scheduled for April 9 and 10 at Wrekin College, Shropshire.
