Two police officers were injured after their car overturned and crashed during a high-speed police chase.
The male police officers, of Durham Constabulary, were dispatched to assist with a pursuit along the A1M in the early hours of this morning. The traffic car overturned several times after swerving to avoid a council gritter on the A689 while on route to give chase to the stolen Rover 820.
The officers were badly shaken but suffered only minor injuries The occupants of the stolen car, a 13-year-old, 15-year-old and a 24-year-old man, all from Hendon, Sunderland, are in custody at Darlington Police station.
