PUPILS from an East Cleveland school have been celebrating overseas links.
To mark three years of partnership with schools in Europe, a balloon race was staged as part of a week of events, at Whitecliffe Primary School, in Carlin How.
Each child released a balloon bearing information about the school.
Within a few days, one sent by Natasha Kett was returned. It had landed in a French village less than 40 miles from the European Parliament's headquarters in Strasbourg.
A few days later, Luke Vodden's card came back from Switzerland and, after Christmas, Ryan Craggs received his balloon tag, from Alsace.
Luke, with Jacky Unternaehrer, from Switzerland, was the clear winner. Jacky and her family have been sent their £5 prize in euros
