YOUNGSTERS are gearing up for the first Redcar Junior Fun Run on Sunday, March 10.
The run will start at the Kirkleatham Showground and go through the woodlands at Kirkleatham with marshals from New Marske Harriers all around the course to make sure there are no problems.
Organisers from Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and New Marske Harriers said the safety of the children was the priority and for that reason the run has been kept well away from the main roads.
It is also hoped that the event will encourage more young people to take part in sporting activities and promote a healthy outlook and lifestyle.
School and community groups have all been invited to take part but individuals are welcome to join in the fun as well.
Entry costs £3 and there will be T-shirts for all runners.
