A SERIAL obscene caller who made a multitude of phone calls while high on drugs yesterday failed in a bid to have his sentence slashed at London's Court of Appeal.
Gavin Wayne Waters, of St Anthony's Road, Walker, Newcastle, used his mobile phone and those of friends to call numbers, often randomly, and deliver a litany of obscene, racist and frightening messages, top judges heard.
One of his terrified victims was a 15-year-old schoolgirl.
The 21-year-old was sentenced to three years custody after pleading guilty to causing a public nuisance at Newcastle Crown Court on September 11, last year.
Three Appeal Court judges dismissed the appeal, saying the sentence "could not be criticised in the circumstances"
