NEV Pybus came out on top in Guisborough Motor Club's northern group centre trial at Birk Brow quarry last Sunday.

With parking space limited, the club set a maximum entry of 80 riders for the event. Clerk of the course Brian Overy and his team found several brand new sections for the four-lap, ten-section course.

Riding a Gas Gas, Pybus lost just two marks on each lap to finish five marks clear of Phil Mayfield. The winner lost a total of three marks at the seventh section, a slippery climb over big rocks finishing with a steep drop and a tight left turn out.

The next section started over slippery tree roots before a steep climb out. Pybus rode this well, losing just a single dab on each lap.

l The Bedlington Motor Club had a good entry of 106 competitors for its North East centre trial at Hope Foot Farm, near Otterburn, last Sunday.
