A GRANT of £1,000 will be used to help make an east Cleveland beauty spot accessible for people in wheelchairs.
The money has been given to the Friends of Hazelgrove by Saltburn, Marske and New Marske Parish Council.
Tony Lynn, from the group, said it will be used to carry out a feasibility study to see how access can be improved.
Hazelgrove Woods run through Saltburn and are a popular walking spot for local people.
Its popularity is evident in the fact that the Friends has more than 100 members made up of people living in Saltburn and beyond.
The Friends want to make disabled access from the top promenade down to the bottom promenade a reality and has to carry out technical surveys before it can get the go ahead to apply for further money for the work to be carried out.
At present, the paths are considered to be too narrow for wheelchairs.
