A HOUSING association is looking for more landlords to take part in a scheme which helps homeless people move into good quality housing instead of bed and breakfast accommodation.
Endeavour Housing, which has been running the scheme in partnership with Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and Middlesbrough Council over a number of years, leases empty properties from owners for up to three years.
Charlotte Howse, Endeavour manager, said: "The owner receives a guaranteed monthly income and the housing association is responsible for the management of the property.
"We have run the scheme successfully for a number of years and now need more landlords to take part. The spin-off is two-fold - the landlord is getting a return for properties which otherwise may remain empty or unsold, and the families are able to have a quality of life which is not possible in temporary accommodation."
For more details, landlords should contact the housing association and ask for the private sector leasing co-ordinator, on (01642) 796200.
