A MOTORIST who tried to pull a schoolgirl into his car is being sought by police.
Detectives want to speak to anyone who saw the attempted abduction in Manor Road, Sulgrave, in Washington, Wearside, on Thursday, at 8.45am.
A four-wheel drive H-registration car with blacked-out windows pulled up alongside three schoolgirls on their way to lessons.
The driver got out of the car and tried to grab an 11-year-old girl. She broke free and all three girls ran off before the man drove off towards Trafalgar Road.
The man is aged between 30 and 35, slim and has a dark moustache, which is greying at the edges. He was wearing sunglasses and a dark bomber jacket.
