A TEENAGER was taken to hospital after he was involved in a road accident in Hartlepool on Saturday.
The 13-year-old was crossing the town's Coast Road near to the Saxon pub at about 1.15pm, when he was struck by a silver car and knocked on to its bonnet.
The boy had one tooth knocked out and suffered minor grazing to his arms and legs.
He was taken to the University Hospital of Hartlepool and later transferred to Middlesbrough General Hospital, before being allowed home later that evening.
It was thought the boy had been the victim of a hit-and-run accident, but a female driver has since come forward to help police with their inquiries.
However, police would still like to speak to the driver of a red pick-up van, who pulled into the pub car park and spoke to the woman after the accident.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Hartlepool police on (01642) 302127.
