A CAMPAIGN to boost Britain's beleaguered manufacturing industry is being launched today.
Part of the British Made for Quality initiative is a new mark organisers hope manufacturers will adopt to help shoppers identify products made in this country.
The campaign is supported by the Federation of Small Businesses, London Chamber of Commerce and the British Hardware and Housewares Manufacturers' Association.
For products to qualify for the British Made for Quality mark, 60 per cent of the manufacturing costs have to have been in this country. As well as promoting British-made products, the campaign will highlight the infringements of patents and illegal copying of British products, especially in the Far East
