THIEVES who stole a joiner's van containing a host of tools will have a hard time selling their loot, thanks to security conscious self-employed labourer Kenneth Pacey.
The carpenter and joiner, from East Layton, North Yorkshire, had many of his tools engraved with the words: "Stolen from Kenneth Pacey."
And all the tools feature his postcode.
Thieves made off with his white J-registered Leyland Daff LDV van, which has reflective orange stripes on the side and a large step mesh across the back, on Saturday.
He had driven to the B&Q store, off North Road, in Darlington, and left his van in the car park at 5.05pm.
He returned five minutes later as the van was being driven off.
The van contained joinery equipment including electrical and non-electrical handtools.
Police have recovered the vehicle after it was used in a burglary on Allington Way, in the Lingfield area of town.
Scene of crime officers are now investigating.
Anybody who has information is asked to contact Darlington police, on (01325) 467681, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
