A DEVELOPMENT worker appointed to set up a toy library scheme is appealing for a warehouse to rent.
Alison Nairn of the Redcar and Cleveland Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership is ordering a large variety of toys and musical instruments, which will be suitable for youngsters of all ages and available for parents to borrow.
But the scheme has hit a hurdle because there appears to be no space to rent in and around Redcar where the toys can be warehoused when they are not on loan.
Ideally the project needs at least 450 square ft of space. There is money available for renting the premises through the Partnership.
Mrs Nairn said: "When it is up and running, the Toy Library will be operated from within local libraries and other venues, travelling around Redcar and Cleveland."
A catalogue of toys and equipment will be available for families, playgroups, childminders and private groups to choose from.
Anyone who has premises available for rent and would like to help, should call Mrs Nairn on (01642) 771173.
