CASSIE, a three-year-old labrador-retriever cross, is looking for a new home.
The National Animal Sanctuary Support League is rehoming her because her owners can no longer look after her.
Pauline Wilson, from the league's centre in Darlington, said that Cassie's owners had started working full-time and could not give her the attention she needed.
"It's sad, because they are sorry to see her go, but she is becoming very bored being left on her own and it is not fair," she said.
"She is a lovely dog, really fabulous. She will make a good family pet - a great addition to any family.
"Cassie has a great temperament. She is a nice-natured dog. She will need two good walks a day and anyone thinking of giving her a home should be at home at least part of the day."
The league was inundated with calls from readers after Barnie, an 18-month-old whippet, was featured last week.
Barnie was bought as a racing dog, but he preferred to play instead.
After his plight was highlighted, the league received 30 calls from people offering him a new home.
Pauline said: "We had a great response for Barnie, everyone wanted him. He is now at his new home in Woodham, Newton Aycliffe. His new owners already have a whippet, so Barnie will make a nice companion."
