CLOTHING store staff are taking to the catwalk for a charity fashion show.
The event, organised by Newcastle's Grainger Town Project, takes place in the Assembly Rooms today, and features 30 staff from the fashion outlets in the Grainger Quarter.
It offers people an early chance to see this summer's fashions, and aims to raise thousands of pounds for the Sunshine Fund in the process.
The show, which follows a similar event yesterday, starts at 8pm, and the bar will be open to visitors throughout.
Prior to making their catwalk debuts, the models spent two months attending classes at Dance City, where they learned moves for the shows.
Among the retailers taking part are Kookai, Envy, Reiss, FCUK, Oasis, Ann Summers and Nevisport.
Jane Caddick, of the Grainger Town Project, said: "This is a unique event for the city because it is the first time the different retailers have come together in this way.
"As well as showcasing the diversity and quality of the high street fashion names we have here, it will also be an important charity function, raising funds for a very deserving cause."
Carol Botten, Sunshine Fund co-ordinator, said: "It's fantastic that the proceeds from the fashion show are going to support the Sunshine Fund.
"All the money raised will go towards providing essential equipment for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in the North-East."
