A NEW residents' association has been formed in Newton Aycliffe ahead of imminent boundary changes.
The Dales Residents' Association and Neighbourhood Watch includes Eskdale Place, Silverdale Place, Langdale Place and the Horndale area.
The association was formed in readiness for boundary changes, which are due to take place next year.
Secretary Dorothy Bowman said: "Horndale does not have a residents' association at the moment and it is hoped that the residents will come to our meetings to gather information and make new friends."
The motto of the Dales Residents' Association is: A community of friends is a community of peace.
Mrs Bowman said: "We hope that this motto can be carried out to the full. After all, if we cannot be at peace with our neighbours, how can peace grow in this troubled world?"
The next neighbourhood watch meeting will be held in the Southerne Club, on Williamfield Way, on Tuesday, from 7pm. It will include a talk on drug awareness and everyone from the town is welcome to attend.
