A CLEVELAND Police drink-drive blitz over the weekend resulted in just one motorist being caught over the limit.
Officers tested 39 motorists throughout Teesside during a 48-hour period as part of a Europe-wide police campaign to crack down on drink drivers.
Inspector Mick Bennet, of Cleveland Police's road policing unit, said: "While pleased with the results we are not being complacent.
"We must remember that poor weather conditions over the weekend probably had a part to play in that many motorists may simply have stayed off the roads.
"However it was another welcome opportunity to raise the issue of drinking and driving."
