FUTURE entrepreneurs received expert advice at a university masterclass.
More than 100 pupils from schools across the North-East attended Sunderland University's Business School for the event, organised as part of the national Young Enterprise Awards.
The visit came just weeks before they had to submit final presentations of their work to the Young Enterprise judges.
To help them towards this, experts from the business school, which runs the enterprise programme Innovation, Creativity and Enterprise (ICE), gave pupils advice and information on all areas of setting up a business.
The youngsters took part in workshops to learn about the effort required to run a successful business.
Hilary Davison, senior lecturer at the business school and leader of the ICE programme said: "Young Enterprise provides an opportunity for young people who are still at school to start their own businesses.
"They take a business idea from the planning stage to trading and finally through to winding up their business at the end of the school year.
"Sunderland University is delighted to be involved with Young Enterprise and was delighted to host the masterclass, which gave our staff an opportunity to share ideas with teachers and pupils from schools in the region."
