A charity shop volunteer refused to hand over cash to a knife-wielding robber.
The 75-year-old woman was helping at the Imperial Cancer Research shop, Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, on Tuesday when the man threatened her with the knife and demanded money from the till. She refused, but he grabbed £50 before making off towards Borough Road.
The man was described as white, in his early twenties and about 5ft 7in tall. He was wearing a black jacket, fastened with a zip, black trousers and a dark baseball cap.
Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call the street crime unit on (01642) 303126.
