AN inquest was adjourned yesterday into the death of a toddler following a car crash.
Dylan Taylor, of Beaconsfield Street, Northallerton, in North Yorkshire, was in the back of a Peugeot car when it was in collision with a Ford Transit on the A168, near Thornton-le-Beans, between Northallerton and Thirsk, on November 24, last year.
The 23-month-old died in Middlesbrough General Hospitalfrom multiple injuries, just hours before his second birthday.
Teesside Coroner's Court heard that the driver of the Transit, Stephen Robinson, 45, of Inglewood Close, Darlington, appeared at Northallerton Magistrates' Court on January 31, charged with causing the death of the toddler. He was bailed to appear at a later date at Teesside Crown Court.
Coroner Michael Sheffield formally adjourned the inquest pending the conclusion of the crown court proceedings
