TWO of the region's clothing firms are investing in a new initiative to boost their profile and increase their share of the £431m corporate market.
Baird Corporatewear, based in Skelton, east Cleveland, and Dewhirst Corporate Clothing, in Peterlee, are among the 100 companies taking part in London Corporatewear Week, a platform for the latest fashions and ideas in uniforms and workwear.
It takes place on March 19 and 20 at the Commonwealth Events Centre, Kensington.
Corporatewear is big business, with more than 50 per cent of UK workers wearing some kind of specialist clothing to work including business suits, uniforms, overalls and protective clothing.
Janie Fox, event manager of London Corporatewear Week, said: "With the major UK buyers of workwear among the thousands of visitors, this is a superb opportunity for Baird Corporatewear and Dewhirst Corporate Clothing."
