THE Princess Royal is keeping her promise to the North-East Chamber of Commerce by returning to officially open its Tyneside headquarters.
The princess was due to open the offices at the Stamp Exchange, in Newcastle, on April 24 last year, but her flight was cancelled due to fog.
More than £1m has been invested in the Tyneside headquarters which provide enhanced business and training services, including conference facilities, meeting rooms, training rooms and computer suites.
John Irwin, president of the North-East Chamber of Commerce, said: "We are delighted that the Princess Royal is able to join us and are extremely grateful that she was able to reschedule this visit into her busy diary.
"These offices are a major commitment to Tyneside, to our members in the region in terms of improving both services and facilities, and is part of our more customer focused approach to our work.
