Terry Jenner, the world's leading wrist spin coach, visited the North-East this week in a widespread search for the most talented young leg spin bowlers in England and Wales.
His visit formed part of the England and Wales Cricket Board's on going Wrist Spin development programme, which aims to find and nurture future county and international leg spin bowlers.
The former Australian leg spin bowler lead a two-day coaching course at Castle View Sports Centre, Sunderland on Tuesday and at the Football Development Centre, Newcastle on Wednesday.
In attendance was eight of the region's most promising young wrist spinners, aged 11-19.
Throughout February and March Jenner is touring the country and will deliver 21 coaching sessions at ten separate venues to approximately 60 young leg spinners, while also coaching local coaches who will continue the development work after his departure. He will return to the UK in May and August for further coaching, after which the two lucky youngsters will be picked for the trip to Australia.
