EIGHT musicians from the same school have won places on children's orchestras.
The youngsters, from Aysgarth School near Bedale, took part in auditions organised by the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS).
Harry Forman Hardy and Edward Granger were both accepted for the National Symphony Orchestra.
James Ivory, Edmund Willis, John Edwards, Oliver Phillips, Ludo Compton and Hugo Radford were awarded places on the National Convert Band course.
The young musicians were all taught by Dougie Scarfe and Peter Bartlett.
A ninth pupil, singer Alexander Fisher, a member of the school's senior choir, will join the IAPS choral course.
