Darlington 21st Allstars
Despite the snow of the Saturday morning, virtually all Darlington 21st Allstars teams played.
The Under-17s were in Jubilee Cup action at home to Hardwick Youth, a team from a higher division, and they recorded a brilliant 5-4 victory, despite a sending-off and three players who were carrying injuries having to stay on the pitch until the end. Tommy Wright notched a hat-trick and Paul Bayles and man of the match Lee Harding were also on the scoresheet.
The Under-12s were in top-of-the-table action at home to Hartburn Juniors, dominating the game throughout with a first class display which brought a 3-2 win.
The Allstars' goals came via Jack Henderson (2) and Robbie Gudner. The man of the match award went to Adam Hassan.
The high-flying Under-12 Colts were always on top in an away match at Coulby Newham and eventually ran out 3-0 winners, thanks to two goals from leading scorer at the Club Jack Ridley (27 for the season) and Callum Franklin. Kiel Mellor was man of the match.
The Under-14s were in Challenge Cup action and, after recent disappointing League displays, showed their true form and ability with a 6-0 victory and entry into the third round. Darryl Roberts made it 16 for the season with a well-taken hat-trick, Robert Lodge got two and Martin Moscrop grabbed the other. Man of the match was Daniel Hewitson.
The Under-11s were in home action against Hartlepool St Francis and recorded their third League victory in four games with a 3-1 revenge victory. Ross Kelly made it 20 for the season with a couple of goals and Danny Groves got the other. Ian Smurthwaite was man of the match.
The Under-15s travelled the short distance to Spraire Lads and went down 3-0. Iain Braithwaite was man of the match.
The Under-11 Colts were at home to Seaton Carew Juniors and lost 8-1. Allstars' only goal came from man of the match Benn Murphy in a poor overall display from the home side.
The Under-13s travelled to the strongest side in the First Division, Marton FC, and lost 4-1. Matthew McNaughton got the Allstars' goal and Jonathan Dunn was man of the match.
At seven-a-side level, in the Teesside Alliance, the Under-10 Colts were at home to Belasis Juniors and lost 3-1. Michael Johnston got the goal and Andy Collins was man of the match. In a subsequent friendly, the Colts won 4-0 with a hat-trick from man of the match Ryan Bowes and a further goal from Connor Richings. At the same level and in the same League, the Under-10s disappointingly lost 8-0 at neighbours Spraire Lads, the home side being far more committed to the cause. In a subsequent friendly, the Under-10s won 4-3 with two goals from Dean Bland and one each from Billy Kilcran and Jack Johns. Man of the match was Ben Riley in an unusual midfield role.
Darlington Spraire Lads
This week Spraire lost most of its games to the weather, the only game at 11-a-side was that of the the Under-12s who lost 6-2 at Leeming. The Lads scorers being Joe Clamp and Sam Wooten.
In mini-soccer the Lads at Under-10 played local team Allstars and won 8-0 thanks to goals from Nathan Wilson (3) and another three from man of the match Craig Swainston, the other two came from Nicholas Petch.
In the following friendly Spraire lost 4-3 goals coming from Owen Raper and Christopher Lupton.
At the same age in the Cleveland League Spraire played Cumby Rovers in a top of the table clash loosing 4-1 the goal coming from Ben Turnbull, man of the match went to Christopher Gaffney.
In the following friendly Spraire lost 3-2 the goals coming from Adam Swann and Kieron Stubby.
Spraire Lasses combined with Reyrolles lost 15-0 to Blyth, girl of the match went to Beth Swinbank
