Tow Law Bass
Tow Law New Market A pulled out all the stops on their visit to Esh Football Club in a bid to close the gap on the leading Newhouse Club. The Market only dropped one point in the trebles and one in the doubles but this was enough for them to slip three points behind the leaders. Newhouse Club only dropped one point when David Bruce won a singles for the visiting Tow Law Rose and Crown.
Esh Stag's Head lost their last chance of getting among the trophies when they only managed an odd point victory over the visiting Tow Law Cattle Mart. The Mart took both trebles points and then had singles wins from Stephen Boughey, Colin Boughey and Mally Henry. The Stag's singles points came from David Platt, Alan Maughan and Tom March. However the home side made up for their poor start by taking all three doubles points for success.
There were maximums from Darren Yeoman, John Parkin, Kenneth Atkinson and Mike Seaton for the New Market A and Malcolm Boughey from the Cattle Mart. Keith Robson and David Platt of the Stag's Head and Colin Boughey of the Cattle Mart hit 140s each. Darren Yeoman made a 156 double start with Stephen Boughey checking out on 134 and Bob March on 121.
