A bizarre own-goal from Frank Sinclair proved enough to hand Middlesbrough all three points at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday.
With just three minutes on the clock Foxes centre-back Sinclair, under no pressure at all, put the ball beyond his own 'keeper Ian Walker from 30 yards out to the astonishment of everyone in the stadium.
Instead of bursting the game into life however, both sides produced little in terms of ideas although Boro will be the happier of the two sides after they secured another vital three points and send Dave Bassett's side deeper into relegation trouble.
A second half 20-yard effort from Jonathan Greening which ricocheted off the post was the nearest Boro came to doubling their lead.
