CIVIC society members celebrated the colourful history of a former booming industrial site by unveiling a special panel.
The panel was hung in the new Mowbray House surgery, Northallerton, together with an advertisement for the area from 1878 and an aerial photograph showing the factory which used to stand there.
The project was funded by the surgery and Allertonshire Civic Society, whose vice-president, Pam Langmaid recently teamed up with historian Mick Riordan to research the area's past.
They found that the area was once a major hive of industry before old buildings were demolished last year to make way for the surgery.
