CLEAN-UP campaigners have come up with a canny idea to help the environment.
Residents of Middlesbrough are being encouraged to collect aluminium cans scheduled for the bin and make a few bob in the process.
Middlesbrough Council is asking people to take their tins along to the town's Albert Park today, to a collection point at the park's West Lodge, next to the Cenotaph.
They will be able to exchange their cans for cash - 40p per kilo of aluminium.
Albert Park manager Bill Morton, representatives from North-East Recycling Limited and Friends of Albert Park will help to collect the cans.
