Darlington Football Club remains confident it will continue to use the Feethams ground once the Neasham Road stadium is completed.
The club's public relations director, Luke Raine, said they would continue to use the ground for training and reserve matches.
Darlington Cricket Club was asking £10,000 a year in rent from the Quakers to use the ground, but George Reynolds offered £2,000.
However, when asked yesterday whether the Quakers would still have a lease for the Feethams ground once the new stadium is open, Mr Raine said: "I should think so."
Mr Reynolds is yet to find a buyer for the Newcastle Breweries Stand at Feethams, which has a £1m price tag.
Mr Raine said that although the club received a number of inquiries about the stand, there had been no definite offers. They are willing to sell the stand, completed in 1998, to the highest bidder as a complete package or in bits.
