A CHARITY concert featuring local songs is being held in County Durham.
The Annfield Plain Glee-men will host the event, in aid of the Friends of Durham Hospitals, at All Saints Youth Centre, Langley Park, on Friday, from 7pm.
It will include many Northumbrian favourites and well-known songs from the shows performed by the all-male choir.
Formed in 1903, the Gleemen have more than 40 members and next year, will be celebrating their centenary.
Proceeds from the concert will be used to support Earls House Hospital, The County Hospital and the University Hospital of North Durham.
Maud Lowdon, chairwoman of the Langley Park branch of the Friends of Durham Hospitals, said: "We are delighted that the Annfield Plain Glee-men have agreed to help us raise money for Durham hospitals.
"In the past year, we have raised over £450 from fundraising events in the Langley Park area, and we hope the concert will add to this success."
Tickets cost £2 and are available at the door
