GOLFERS itching to get back on the fairways once the weather improves were given the chance to improve their strokeplay while undercover at Tyneside's MetroCentre.
The malls of the indoor retail complex provided a makeshift driving range for golf enthusiasts on weekend shopping expeditions with their families.
A pitching area and a putting green were set up in the centre's Town Square, alongside the House of Fraser store, to help test the swings of visitors, under the expert eyes of members of the Roseberry Grange Golf Academy, between Stanley and Chester-le-Street, County Durham.
Golf professional and county coach Alan Hartley oversaw the day-long coaching session, backed by fellow pro Chris Jones.
England schoolgirl international Emily Lowther also offered helpful hints to those trying their hand at the sport.
