A SHOWCASE for talent from across the region opens tomorrow - a year later than planned.
The Wensleydale Tournament of Song, in North Yorkshire, was a victim of the foot-and-mouth crisis last year. The hangover from the epidemic has also meant entries for this year are down.
However, organisers have decided the show must go on and a shortened programme opens with the speech categories tomorrow.
The competition continues on Thursday and Friday, with a two-day break over the weekend before music categories on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
All performances at the Methodist Hall, Leyburn, are open to the public.
There is an admission fee of £1 during the day and £1.50 in the evening.
Programmes are available from Gilsan Sports and Ian Barker the Jeweller, in Leyburn's town centre
