A man was subjected to a terrifying gay rape ordeal after being locked inside a flat against his will, a court heard.
The man, who cannot be named, was at the home of Charles Lakeman, 37, on September 27 last year.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how the man pleaded with Mr Lakeman to leave him alone and set him free but he was subjected to a vicious sexual attack and had £150 stolen from his wallet.
Mr Lakeman, of Azalea Terrace, Sunderland, said the man had wanted to be at the flat and was not held against his wishes.
He said the man had been "eager and willing". Mr Lakeman denies rape, false imprisonment and theft.
The trial continues.
