PLANS to demolish a swimming pool look likely to be approved by councillors.
In the past two years Durham Lane swimming pool, in Eaglescliffe, has been closed on numerous occasions for repairs to the pool lining, with the result that local primary schools have been unable to use the facility and have had to use the Splash pool, in Stockton, as an alternative. Disabled youngsters community group Child has used Thornaby Pool.
The Durham Lane pool was closed last March and it was estimated that £45,000 would be needed to keep it open. Closure and demolition costs would total £15,000.
Members of Stockton Borough Council's cabinet will meet on Thursday to discuss the plans.
