COMMUNITIES across the Ryedale area that are planning to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee could be in line for a cash boost.
Grants of up to £500 are being made available to community groups, parish and town councils who are planning a community event, party or project between May and July to celebrate the jubilee.
Community projects officer Jo Reilly, said: "Ryedale District Council has set aside £10,000 to be given as grants for Ryedale groups to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
"Once the application has been received it will be considered by the Grant Fund Panel at a special meeting in April and funds will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If necessary, a further meeting will be held in May."
All bids for grant aid must be made on application forms and must be accompanied by: a detailed budget showing projected costs and income, written quotation for any items costing more than £50, and a copy of the group's constitution or rules where applicable. Forms must be returned by March 31.
