STUDENTS at a Scarborough secondary school are helping teachers to pack two lorries full of goods for disabled youngsters and orphans in the Ukraine.
Jerry and Elaine Chomyszak are to make the 3,000-mile round trip next month, taking children's clothing, toys, toiletries and baby products for children affected by the fall-out from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
The pupils are raising cash and collecting goods for youngsters who have cleft palates, thyroid cancers, diabetes and other medical conditions, said Mrs Chomyszak, whose parents are from the Ukraine, but fled the country during the Second World War.
Anyone who can help is asked to contact Mrs Chomyszak on (01377) 229481 any evening.
