GREEN-fingered volunteer Michelle Hunter was yesterday rewarded for her selfless service to the community.
The 23-year-old, who has learning difficulties, is taking part in the Government's Millennium Volunteer Scheme.
Yesterday she was presented with an award after clocking up almost 200 hours of work at the Helmsley Walled Garden.
"Michelle has become an invaluable member of the team here," said head gardener Paul Radcliffe.
"She can be absolutely relied upon to be here and she takes a real pride in her work.
"She has become an essential part of the team and many other staff and volunteer's rely on Michelle's presence.
