A FOOTBALL fan has been banned from attending any matches in the UK or abroad after invading the pitch at a North-East derby game.
Hartlepool supporter David Wilson was given the threeyear ban after an incident at Darlington FC's Feethams ground, on February 19.
Pool fans surged forward to celebrate a 1-1 draw, South Durham magistrates' Court heard. Wilson, 24, ran towards the area where the Quakers fans were massed, knocking over a steward.
Wilson, of Stratford Road, Hartlepool, pleaded guilty to unlawfully going where spectators were not allowed. He was also given a 12-month conditional discharge.
Christopher O'Brien, 19, of Stockton Road, Hartlepool, is accused of using abusive words or behaviour and provoking violence at the game. His case was adjourned until April 9.
He was granted conditional bail and ordered not to attend any football ground in England and Wales.
Mark Simmons, 30, of Darrowby Drive, Darlington, is accused of the same offence. His case has also been adjourned until April 9.
He was ordered not to go into Darlington town centre before and after a match, and not to enter a football ground in England and Wales.
