A PILOT scheme to promote pedestrian safety among seven and eight-year-olds has been launched by Stockton Borough Council's road safety team.
Pupils from Roseberry Juniors, in Billingham, Tedder, in Thornaby, and Ingleby Mill Primary and St Therese of Lisieux, in Inglebly Barwick, are being given three 20-minute lessons to help promote good road sense.
Peter Fleming, the council's assistant road safety officer said: "The training is done very much from the child's point of view - what they see and hear when they are out and what the potential dangers are on the roads."
