A doctor's son has been found hanging from a banister at home after problems with other pupils at his first comprehensive school.
Jack Glasby, 13, left Caedmon School, in Whitby, North Yorkshire, and moved to Yarm School, on Teesside, but his attendance was extremely limited.
Deputy headteacher at Yarm School David Woodward said: "He had been suffering from the effects of a previous traumatic experience. Through his GP and social services, he had been receiving treatment and his family worked closely with the school."
Mr Woodward said Jack had faced trouble with his relationships with pupils at his previous school.
Jack's family, of Hinderwell, near Whitby, were too upset to comment. His father, Michael, is a doctor in Loftus, east Cleveland.
Mr Woodward said prayers had been said and a minute's silence held for Jack.
An inquest into Jack's death was opened in Malton, North Yorkshire, and adjourned.
North Yorkshire County Council - the local education authority for Caedmon School - declined to comment last night.
