A RAPIST who made his teenage victim act as lookout while he attacked her was jailed for ten years yesterday.

The girl said that when Paul Greathead attacked her in her home she told him her mother was due back.

Greathead, 36, ordered her to keep watch for the car drawing up while he attacked the 16-year-old at knifepoint.

The girl said that when she was 12 her father also sexually abused her and he was sent to jail.

Greathead told police she consented to sex sessions, said Christopher Attwooll, prosecuting.

Greathead changed his pleas to guilty after two new witnesses contacted police during the trial, at Teesside Crown Court.

Judge Tony Briggs told him: "You caused dreadful damage to her and effectively robbed her of years which should have been precious to a young woman."

Greathead, of no fixed address but formerly of Tankerville Street, Hartlepool, pleaded guilty to three charges of rape. Ten more allegations of rape, which he denied, were left on the court file.

He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
