MARKET traders have presented the pick of their produce to Durham's mayor.
To mark Tuesday's return of the pottery fair to Durham Market Place, its traders presented gifts to the city's mayor, Coun George Cowper, for his chosen charities.
On previous visits, the traders have made similar presentations, also benefitting Helping Hands, the Alzheimer's Society and the Durham Centre for people with learning disabilities.
Arthur Bloor, president of the pottery fairs branch of the National Association of Market Traders, said: "Durham's Market Place is one of our favourite venues.
"We are delighted to make this presentation to help and support the mayor's charities."
The fair was due to be in the market place until Friday, selling ceramics and crystal at bargain prices. It was being supported by Durham City Forum.
City centre manager Chris Rawlinson said: "People travel for miles to treat themselves."
